New Priest Trained in Latin Mass Assigned in Birmingham

It is with great pleasure that Una Voce announces the appointment of Fr. Jim Booth to Blessed Sacrament Parish in Birmingham, Alabama. Fr. Booth has been learning the Traditional Latin Mass for the past few months and intends to offer a weekly Latin Mass that will begin shortly after his assignment starts. Una Voce Northern Alabama has been working toward this goal for the past couple of years, and Una Voce encourage all of its members and benefactors to offer a prayer of thanksgiving to our Lord Jesus Christ through the intercession of the Blessed Mother. Please take the time to write Bishop Baker and thank him for responding to the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum by establishing regular Latin Masses in Huntsville and now Birmingham. Be assured that UVNA will begin the task of assisting other communities in the diocese who desire to attend a Traditional Latin Mass. This is important because it is adjacent to our diocese and also this is the home of EWTN and many people at EWTN are now becoming attached to the Latin Mass. This is a major development of the restoration of the Faith in the South.

I was happy to find and read your post here at this website. I am a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, though my family and I do not attend the Latin Mass. We've basically been told nothing whatsoever about our new pastor/administrator. I had no idea he was placed with us in order to facilitate the Latin Mass congregation. Thank you for the information.
