On the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary ( Feb 2nd) , The Most Rev Edward J Slattery will be celebrating a pontifical Solemn Mass, with the blessing of candles beforehand, at the National Shrine of the Infant of Prague in Prague, OK. This will be one of the first solemn pontifical Masses celebrated at the Shrine in more than 50 years, and this year, the shrine celebrates 65 years of existence. His excellency is a friend of tradition and even celebrates the Novus Ordo mass ad orientem. EWTN has announced they will broadcast this Mass, it is unsure if it will be live or a taped broadcast, either way this is tremendous news. It is important to write EWTN after the broadcast to thank them for doing this.
