Bishop of Savannah
2170 East Victory Dr.
Savannah, GA 31404-3918

Your Excellency,

It is with great joy that I am writing to discuss an opportunity for our diocese regarding the Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Sancti Petri (FSSP), a traditional clerical society in full communion with Rome. In the Diocese of Savannah there exists a stable coetus fidelium adhering to an earlier tradition especially Mass in the forma extraordinaria. I understand that there has been contact between members of this Diocese and the FSSP through the FSSP parish in Mableton, GA. St. Francis de Sales was erected in 1999 and enjoys regular canonical status as a personal parish in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The parish is thriving under its pastor, Rev. Matthew McCarthy, and maintains a very fruitful relationship with Archbishop Wilton Gregory.
In Mableton, several representatives of this "coetus fideliu"  met with the Superior of the North American District of the FSSP, Rev. Gerard Saguto. In the very near future he will finalize his next round of clerical assignments. With your approval he could send two priests in the summer of 2016 to establish a personal parish in the Diocese of Savannah. He is willing to meet with you personally in Savannah to discuss this opportunity. I humbly request your invitation of Rev. Saguto to speak with you about this pastoral opportunity. His contact information is listed below:

Rev. Gerard Saguto, FSSP
119 Griffin Road
Elmhurst Township, PA 18444
Telephone: (570) 842 - 4000 ext. 101
Fax: (570) 842-4001

Your consideration of this opportunity is very much appreciated. Thank you for your priesthood, your episcopate, and your loving oversight of our diocese.

Respectfully yours in Christ,

I have posted a link to this article on the Southern Orders website. For the sake of the faithful in the Savannah Diocese, I hope that this comes to fruition.
