Father Heiser, OSB, Benedictine Monk

UNA VOCE TO HOLD FREE CONFERENCE CALL

Una Voce Georgia will be conducting a free conference call for traditional Catholics in the Georgia, covering both the Atlanta and Savannah Dioceses. The presenter of the first two conference calls will be Fr. John Paul Heiser, OSB who is a priest and Benedictine monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, Pennsylvania currently assigned to St. Vincent’s dependent priory in Savannah, Georgia. Thankful for the privilege of offering the Traditional Mass regularly in Savannah’s Cathedral, he is also teaching theology at Benedictine Military High School. Fr. John Paul holds BAs from Pennsylvania State University, an M.Div. from Saint Vincent Seminary and an STB from San Anselmo Pontifical University. He has devoted for years and continues to devote a substantial amount of time to the spiritual direction of souls.

Father will present his first talk in November 12th at 7:00 pm on the Four Temperaments. The four temperaments are an ancient and traditional way of understanding personality.  They label an individual’s stable set of dispositions based in the material constitution of the individual.  The Catholic Church has generally acknowledge their existence and treats of them in its spiritual theology. The famous Thomist Fr. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P. mentions temperament heavily in his work and ties temperament to one’s predominant fault.  Fr. Jordan Aumann, O.P. and, more recently, Fr. Chad Ripperger, treat of the topic in their work.  Understanding temperament is extremely helpful for spiritual direction, spiritual growth, and facility in human relations.
