CONFERENCE CALL AGENDA

Here is the proposed agenda for the statewide conference call on Spy Wednesday,

(we will wait while people call in and once we have all or most of those expected to call in then we will start, we will start with a prayer)

AGENDA

1. each member calling in will identify himself and where he is calling from and what diocese you are in.

2. chairman will welcome callers and make preliminary remarks and announcements of events.

3. chairman will have each person on the line give a report on how things are in their area and tell us what interest and or activity there is with the latin mass in their area. Tell chairman what you need from Una Voce to help you so he can make notes and follow up with you. The web master of the web page will be on the line so you can make suggestions and recommendations about the web page so he can hear them.

4. Chairman will give his overview on the status of the latin mass in the Atlanta and Savannah dioceses .

5. Chairman will make closing remarks and see if we should hold another conference call, or have a meeting.

Goals of the Conference Call

1. Let everyone get an overview on the status of the Latin Mass and Traditional Catholicism in this state. There has NEVER been an effort to do a statewide survey on the status of Traditional Catholcism. This will give us a feel on how things stand and we will provide this to the national Una Voce officers.

2. Let everyone know if there are others in your area that you can contact and work with.

3. See what we can do to improve the web page.

4. Guage the health and status of the Church in our state.

5. See what we can do to help people on the local level to promote the Latin Mass and Traditioanl practices, and come up with a list who we help first, second, etc.

6. See if everyone would like a Traditional priest to be included on the next conference call or meeting.

7. Let people think about a Traditioanl Pilgrimage possibility to Savannah

STATE WIDE CONFERENCE CALL FOR SPY WEDNESDAY

We have had enough response to decide on a conference call on Spy Wednesday and therefore we will set it up. PLease see the earlier post on the time and date. If you would like to participate send in your info to latinmass@joimail.com We need someone from the Agusta area since it is not currently represented. This will be the first time in history Traditional Catholics have joined together on a statewide level and if it works we will recommend this to other states to follow this format. Even if you have never been to a Latin Mass you are invited to join in on this call.

URGENT NEWS FROM THE HOLY FATHER

THE FOLLOWING URGENT NEWS HAS JUST BEEN RELEASED BY RORATE CAELI CONCERNING THE SSPX -REMEMBER THAT THE SSPX OPERATES IN THIS STATE AND UNA VOCE PRAYS FOR THE RECONCILLIATION

( FROM RORATE CAELI)

The Pope defends himself cries against moral lynching of Traditionalists

LETTER OF HIS HOLINESS
BENEDICT XVI
TO THE BISHOPS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
ON THE REMISSION OF THE EXCOMMUNICATION
OF THE FOUR BISHOPS CONSECRATED BY ARCHBISHOP LEFEBVRE

A letter of Pope Benedict XVI to all Bishops of the world on the removal of the excommunication of the Bishops of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX / SSPX) and on all aspects involving the subsequent problems related to Bishop Richard Williamson is set to be released tomorrow (Thursday). Several Italian news sources provide some excerpts of the letter this morning, and we will provide a translation as soon as possible.
Excerpts:

The letter will announce that the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei" will be placed under the authority of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (though, as of this moment, it is not clear if only regarding doctrinal matters). The Pope makes clear for Traditionalists that it is not possible to "freeze" the Magisterial authority of the Church in 1962 - but he also chides those who proclaim themselves to be "great defenders of the Council" but who do not wish to understand that Vatican II carries with it "the entire doctrinal history of the Church".
The Pope is frank with those who proclaim ecumenism, but who do not wish to follow through with it with the Fraternity: "May we consign to utter indifference a community in which there are 491 priests, 215 seminarians, ... 117 brothers, 164 sisters, and thousands of faithful? Should we truly let them drift away from the Church? Are we allowed to simply exclude them, as representatives of a radical and marginal group, from the search for unity and reconciliation?"...
...
"A mishap unpredictable to me was the fact that the Williamson affair was placed above the remission of the excommunication. The discreet gesture of mercy towards the four Bishops, ordained validly but not licitly, appeared unexpectedly as a completely different matter: as a denial of the reconciliation of Christians and Jews, and thus as a repeal of that which the Council had clarified for the path of the Church regarding this matter."
...
"I am saddened by the fact that even Catholics, who in the end should have known better how things stand, considered having to assail me with a hostility ready for attack. For this, I thank even more the Jewish friends who have helped to promptly remove the misunderstanding and to reestablish an atmosphere of friendship and trust."
Some of the concluding words are strong: "The impression is often given that our society feels the need for at least one group to which no tolerance is to be granted; which one may perfectly abuse with hatred. And if anyone - in this case the Pope - dares to approach them, he also loses his right to tolerance and he also may be treated with hatred, with no fears or reservations."

Please make a call or drop a note to the Bishop and the Rector for allowing this. Lets pray this leads to other such visits in the future. Please take the time and contact Bishop Boland at:

CONFERENCE CALL FOR SPY WEDNESDAY?

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN MEETING BY CONFERENCE CALL

We have had a discussion in the past about trying to get a few people from around the state together in Macon for a "pow wow" on trying to get an overview on where we stand with getting the Latin Mass promoted and come up with ideas on how to promote the Latin Mass and get it started up in more locations. Because Georgia is such a large state and people would have the expense of an overnight trip ( in some cases) , it may be best to meet by way of a conference call. If you would be interested in participating then we will tentatively set it up for 5:30 pm on Spy Wednesday April 8th. If you want to participate and represent your area of the state send an e mail to latinmass@joimail.com to get the phone number and pass code to participate. Let us know what parish your are from and what diocese you are in. If there is support for an actual physical meeting then we will cancel the conference call and plan a meeting in Macon.
