Calling all Catholics in South Georgia and north Florida please plan to attend the next traditional Latin Mass at Saint Antony of Padua in Ray City Georgia. This is extremely significant. Juventutem Latin Mass at World Youth Day

YOUNG ADULTS' ARCHDIOCESE OF ATLANTA TO MEET

Juventutem Atlanta is a group of young Catholics ages 18-35, single, married, religious, who are serious about the Catholic Faith. They will be meeting in the church on Saturday February 5th at 6:00 pm to pray the rosary and listen to a talk by a traditional priest from the FSSP. Afterwards the group will move to the parish hall for board game night. Great News, the Latin Mass is continuing in Macon in 2022. The next scheduled Latin Mass will be January 30th, 2022, at 2:00 pm. Please help support this endeavor and make sure you thank the pastor: Father J. Scott Winchel at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in downtown Macon. Please spread the word and bring a friend, lets show there is support for tradition in middle Georgia. Let's keep this mass continuing.

LATIN HIGH MASS IN AUGUSTA 3RD SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY

The Latin Mass will return to Augusta for 2022. The date for the monthly Latin High mass in Augusta (3rd Sunday of Each Month) is Sunday January 23rd at 12:30pm. After mass there will be a potluck social in the Saint Francis parish hall. This potluck is for the traditional community and for visitors to be able to socialize and make new friends. There is usually entertainment as well. Even if you don't bring anything, please come and meet like-minded Catholics.

Please continue to pray for the clergy, especially Fr. Almeter and Bp. Parkes. Pray especially for The Holy Father. Please consider participating in the initiative at this link. Mothers of priests in France are doing some heavy lifting, quite literally, to make the case with the Roman Pontiff by carrying letters from the faithful on a march on foot from Paris to Rome. CANDLEMAS SAINT BLAZE BLESSINGS ATLANTA ARCHDIOCESE 2022

THE ONLY CANDLEMASS IN GEORGIA 

Unfortunately, the only place to assist at Candlemas or receive the traditional Saint Blaze Blessing in our state will be at the FSSP parish in the Atlanta Archdiocese. There will be a high Candlemas at St Francis de Sales in Mableton Wednesday February 2nd at 7:00 pm. The blessing of candles and procession precede the mass. Bring your candles for the blessing and make sure your name is on them. When you take a candle from the priest, you kneel then you kiss the candle first then kiss the priest's hand and take the candle. Your lighted candle is held during the Gospel. At home these candles are lit for prayers after dusk on All Saints Day, Extreme Unction, and during storms. These candles will be used by the priests on the following day for the blessing of throats on St Blaze's Day. It is traditional to eat crepes on this day.

EPIPHANY WATER BLESSING 2022 ATLANTA ARCHDIOCESE

 

The great Epiphany water Blessing at Vespers

ONLY OBSERVANCE OF THE FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA

The only place in Georgia where Epiphany water will be blessed will be on Epiphany Eve, Wednesday January 5th at 3:00 pm. at St Francis de Sales in Mableton Georgia, Atlanta Diocese. The ancient blessing of Epiphany water is done during vespers on the eve of the great feast day. The blessing is long & complex, and the water is very powerful. This water is used during the Epiphany Blessing of homes that begin the following day and throughout the octave. Arrive early if you want water blessed, and make sure it has your name on the container. Please bring ONLY gallon jugs. 

ONLY MASS IN GEORGIA FOR THE EPIPHANY IS THIS THURSDAY 

Only mass in the entire state for the great Feast of the Epiphany will be this Thursday at 9:00 am (Low Mass) and a HIGH MASS at 7:00 pm
