Southeastern US Latin Mass Conference-UPDATED

THE SOUTH EASTERN LATIN MASS CONFERENCE IN SARASOTA FLORIDA HAS FINALIZED ITS SCHEDULE. FATHER BISIG FSSP, FOUNDER OF THE FSSP TO BE MAIN SPEAKER

In addition to the below schedule Father Bisig intends to talk about the founding of the Fraternity, the hardships that the FSSP overcame to establish the Latin Mass throughout the world, what it means today to be a traditional Catholic , and suggestions for promoting the Latin Mass in our local areas. This is a unique opportunity !!!!

Below is the schedule of the South Eastern Latin Mass confernce sponsored by Una Voce. It will be at the FSSP parish in Sarasota Florida. Christ the King Chapel, the first and only FSSP Apostolate in Florida,(www.christthekingsarasota.org/) will celebrate its First Anniversary over the weekend of April 16- 18, 2010. The Latin Mass conference will be a part of this celebration.

April 16 - Low Mass at 6:30 PM followed by a light refreshment then Compline

April 17 - High Mass at 9:00 AM followed by day long conference on "The Traditional Catholic in 2010" guided by our invited speaker, Rev. Fr. Josef Bisig, FSSP. Again, Fr. Bisig was a founder of the FSSP and is currently Rector of the FSSP Seminary in Nebraska. Father Bisig has been key to the return of the Extraordinary Form and his experience over 20 years of very successful struggle in this cause will provide excellent, useful, and thought provoking ideas for all attendees. A light snack will be available after the Angelus and at about 4:30 PM we will have an early no-host dinner with Fr. Bisig and our clergy at J. Ryan's, "http://www.jryans.com/" a good nearby restaurant. Good three course meals will start at $10.95 with tax and tip added. Drinks will not be included at that price. This will provide a good opportunity to converse personally with Father Bisig, our other Clergy, and our parishioners.

April 18 - Sunday High Mass at 10:30 followed by the traditional doughnuts and coffee in the Chapel Hall and the opportunity to visit with Fr. Josef Bisig, our FSSP Priests and parishioners. For those wishing to depart early Sunday, there will also be a Low Mass at 8:30 AM. We look forward to robust participation in our weekend. Please keep in mind that all reservations for the celebration/conference must be received no later than March 30 by "stanvalerga@verizon.net" to ensure that we can accommodate all who wish to join us. In addition, please add whether or not you intend to join us for dinner at J.Ryan's. Also, on a more mundane level, hotel and motel reservations, always tight in Sarasota at this time of year, could become problematic. Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with any questions. But reservations only by e-mail please.

ATLANTA PARISH TO START LATIN MASS (UPDATED)

The Church of St John the Evangelist in Hapeville ( near the Atlanta Airport) has announced that they are starting a monthly Latin Mass on Wednesday April 28th at 7:00 pm. It will be the last Wednesday of each month thereafter. A small chapel with traditional altar is being set up for the Latin Mass. The local council of the Knights of Columbus will provide altar servers. If there is enough interest and support the mass may be expanded, including a missa cantata. The pastor Edward Thein is making a tremendous effort in learning the Mass, setting up a chapel, and buying all the vestments etc. that are needed. Please make sure you thank him for what he is doing. Help spread the word and lets get as much support to the parish's efforts as we can. It is very important that we make sure these masses are attended and supportted, Here is info on the parish:
