FSSP Blessing a home
Please ask your local priest to use the Roman Ritual and perform the Epiphany House Blessing on your home. The ceremony is in the Roman Ritual, and the English translation is below for you to follow along. All Catholic priests may use the traditional Roman Ritual pursuant to Summorum Pontificum, without seeking any type of permission.
BLESSING OF HOMES During the Season of Epiphany
The head of household with lighted candle will lead the priest throughout the house as he blesses the rooms.
As the priest comes into the home he says:
P: God's peace be in this home.
All: And in all who live here.
P. Ant.: Magi from the East came to Bethlehem to adore the Lord; and opening their treasure chests they presented Him with precious gifts: gold for the great King, incense for the true God, and myrrh in symbol of His burial. Alleluia.
Canticle of the Magnificat
Luke 1.46-55
P: "My soul * extols the Lord;
All: And my spirit leaps for joy in God my Savior.
P: How graciously He looked upon His lowly maid! * Oh, see, from this hour onward age after age will call me blessed!
All: How sublime is what He has done for me, * the Mighty One, whose name is 'Holy'!
P: From age to age He visits those * who worship Him in reverence.
All: His arm achieves the mastery: * He routs the haughty and proud of heart.
P: He puts down princes from their thrones, * and exalts the lowly;
All: He fills the hungry with blessings, * and sends away the rich with empty hands.
P: He has taken by the hand His servant Israel, * and mercifully kept His faith,
All: As He had promised our fathers * with Abraham and his posterity forever and evermore."
P: Glory be to the Father.
All: As it was in the beginning.
Meanwhile the home is sprinkled with holy water and incensed. At the end of the Magnificat the antiphon is repeated. Then the priest says Our Father (the rest inaudibly until:)
P: And lead us not into temptation.
All: But deliver us from evil.
P: Many shall come from Saba.
All: Bearing gold and incense.
P: Lord, heed my prayer.
All: And let my cry be heard by you.
P: The Lord be with you.
All: May he also be with you.
Let us pray.
God, who on this day revealed your only-begotten Son to all nations by the guidance of a star, grant that we who now know you by faith may finally behold you in your heavenly majesty; through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
Responsory: Be enlightened and shine forth, O Jerusalem, for your light is come; and upon you is risen the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ born of the Virgin Mary.
P: Nations shall walk in your light, and kings in the splendor of- your birth.
All: And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
Let us pray.
Lord God almighty, bless this home, and under its shelter let there be health, chastity, self-conquest, humility, goodness, mildness, obedience to your commandments, and thanksgiving to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. May your blessing remain always in this home and on those who live here; through Christ our Lord. All: Amen.

Blessing of St John's Wine is Friday
On December 27th, in the Roman Ritual there is the blessing of St John wine. Have your priest Bless wine on this day. You use this wine to drink a toast to St John on this day before dinner. Here is how it it done:
When it is drunk on his Feast Day, we drink it before dinner as a toast to St. John. The Father of the house lifts his glass toward Mother and says, "I drink you the love of St. John." The Mother replies "I thank you for the Love of St. John" and then turns to the oldest child, lifts her glass, and says, "I drink you the love of St. John..." -- and on it goes down the line until each has been toasted.
Here is the blessing of the wine and how it is done:
BLESSING OF WINEon the Feast of St. John, Apostle and Evangelist (December 27)
At the end of the principal Mass on the feast of St. John, Apostle and Evangelist, after the last Gospel, the priest, retaining all vestments except the maniple, blesses wine brought by the people. This is done in memory and in honor of St. John, who drank without any ill effects the poisoned wine offered to him by his enemies.
P: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
All: Who made heaven and earth.
P: The Lord be with you.
All: May He also be with you.
Let us pray.
If it please you, Lord God, bless + and consecrate + this vessel of wine (or any other beverage) by the power of your right hand; and grant that, through the merits of St. John, apostle and evangelist, all your faithful who drink of it may find it a help and a protection. As the blessed John drank the poisoned potion without any ill effects, so may all who today drink the blessed
wine in his honor be delivered from poisoning and similar harmful things. And as they offer themselves body and soul to you, may they obtain pardon of all their sins; through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
Lord, bless + this creature drink, so that it may be a health-giving medicine to all who use it; and grant by your grace that all who taste of it may enjoy bodily and spiritual health in calling on your holy name; through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
May the blessing of almighty God, Father, Son, + and Holy Spirit, come on this wine (or any other beverage) and remain always.
All: Amen.
It is sprinkled with holy water. If the blessing is given privately outside of Mass, the priest is vested in surplice and stole and performs the ceremony as given above.

YET ANOTHER ATTACK ON THE LATIN MASS
UNA VOCE IS TERRIBLY SAD TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING HAS BEEN KICKED OUT OF ST MARYS ORATORY IN LA CROSSE WISCONSIN
Under Bishop Burke the Institute of Christ the King was given this Oratory and many Una Voce members contributed money to restore this church to its former beauty. The consecration of this traditional church was broadcast live on EWTN. Many traditional Catholics have moved to this area to be a part of the Oratory, including at least one family from Georgia. Now under the new Bishop, the Institute of Christ the King has been removed and the beautiful traditional church will be handed over to a novus ordo parish. This is the second major attack on the Latin Mass in the last two weeks.

We Support Padre Stefano
Axios! La sacra dignitas.
Padre Stefano Manelli, FFI. A living saint. Our modern Seraphic Father.
He received his First Holy Communion from Padre Pio in 1938. The closest thing to a mystic you might ever meet. His whole family are saints. Amazing people. I love spending time with them.
We stand in support of Padre Stefano and his Congregatio Fratrum Franciscanorum Immaculatae. He has simply sought the spirituality of St. Padre Pio, St, Max Kolbe and St. Francis of Assisi.
When the good guys are persecuted by the Curia it often follows the same pattern: a calumnious petition against a good guy sent to the Holy Office. Filed by some abdominable colleague and followed by a humiliating scolding and an even more humiliating punishment. The same things happened to (St.) Padre Pio himself. Being called ad pedes (to give account after being attacked and maligned). Being sided against. But this comes with the territory. The tough road to sanctity. Being purified. Obedience to the Church is supreme. At the word "Church" Padre Pio often bowed in a devout manner. He once said: "First the Church and then I will take into consideration Its ingenious ruiners or constructors." Our Lady will sort this one out.

BLESSING OF BONFIRE FOR ST JOHN THE BAPTIST
One of the most ancient blessings in the Roman Ritual is the Blessing of a bonfire on the Vigil of the Nativity of St John the Baptist. ( The Vigil is June 23rd this year). Pursuant to Summorum Pontificum you can ask your priest to utilize the Roman Ritual (in addition to the Missal & Breviary) and can ask him to perfom this blessing at your Church
If you are able to have your priest bless a bonfire here is the english translation of the Blessing for you to follow along:
BLESSING OF A BONFIRE on the Vigil of the Birthday of St. John the Baptist conferred by the clergy outside of church
In the Church's veneration of her saints the cult of John the Baptist had from earliest times and continues to have a most prominent and honored place. John gave testimony of the true light that shines in the darkness, although he proclaimed in utter humility: "He must increase, but I must decrease." And the Master also spoke in highest praise of His precursor: "I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist." Attuned to the words of the Gospel the Christians of former times were filled with love and enthusiasm for this saint, and expressed a justifiable conviviality at the approach of his feastday by lighting a bonfire the night before in front of their churches, in the market-place, on the hilltops, and in the valleys. The custom of St. John bonfires, indicative of a people with unabashed and childlike faith, continues in some places to this day.
P: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
All: Who made heaven and earth.
P: The Lord be with you.
All: May He also be with you.
Let us pray.
Lord God, almighty Father, the light that never fails and the source of all light, sanctify this new fire, and grant that after the darkness of this life we may come unsullied to you who are light eternal; through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
The fire is sprinkled with holy water; after which the clergy and the people sing the following hymn (for the music see the music supplement):
Hymn: Ut queant laxis
O for your spirit, holy John, to chasten
Lips sin-polluted, fettered tongues to loosen;
So by your children might your deeds of wonder
Meetly be chanted.
Lo! a swift herald, from the skies descending,
Bears to your father promise of your greatness;
How he shall name you, what your future story,
Duly revealing.
Scarcely believing message so transcendent,
Him for a season power of speech forsaketh,
Till, at your wondrous birth, again returneth,
Voice to the voiceless.
You, in your mother's womb all darkly cradled,
Knew your great Monarch, biding in His chamber,
Whence the two parents, through their offspring's merits,
Mysteries uttered.
Praise to the Father, to the Son begotten,
And to the Spirit, equal power possessing,
One God whose glory, through the lapse of ages,
Ever resounding.
P: There was a man sent from God.
All: Whose name was John.
Let us pray.
God, who by reason of the birth of blessed John have made this
day praiseworthy, give your people the grace of spiritual joy,
and keep the hearts of your faithful fixed on the way that leads
to everlasting salvation; through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
The Faithful are in a cirlce around the fire and after the blessing walk 15 times counterclockwise while praying the Ave Maria. Old sacramentals that need to be disposed of are placed in the fire.
