JUVENTUTEM  ATLANTA SETS REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING DATES 

Juventutem Atlanta is a group of Catholic young adults in the Archdiocese of Atlanta that are serious about their Faith.  It is made up of 18–35-year old's, single, married, and religious. They have set regular monthly meetings dates. They will now meet every first Saturday of each month at 6:00 pm in the church of Saint Francis de Sales. They will pray the rosary with a priest of the FSSP. Following the rosary, the priest will give a talk to the group. Following the talk, the group will retire to the parish hall for a board game night. 

On the third Sunday of each month the group will meet for a hike/outdoor activity with a priest of the FSSP at 2:30 pm.

LATIN HIGH MASS AUGUSTA APRIL 24TH

The date for the monthly Latin High mass in Augusta (4th Sunday of Each Month) is Sunday April 24th at 12:30pm for Low Sunday. After mass there will be Devotions for Divine Mercy at 3:00 pm and a potluck social in the Saint Francis parish hall. This potluck is for the traditional community and for visitors to be able to socialize and make new friends. There is usually entertainment as well. Even if you don't bring anything, please come and meet like-minded Catholics.

TRADITIONAL HOLY WEEK ATLANTA ARCHDIOCESE 2022

 

The crotalus makes its yearly debut on Holy Thursday

THE ONLY TRADITIONAL HOLY WEEK IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA

Unfortunately, Holy Week will not be observed in the Savannah Diocese, except for the usual Sunday Mass at the Cathedral in Savannah. The Faithful in this Diocese will have the usual 1:00 PM High Mass on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. (See post below about Palm Sunday mass in Ray City.) The only complete Holy Week observance in Georgia, will be at the FSSP parish in Mableton. 

The Holy Week liturgy schedule is as follows at St Francis de Sales in Mableton. All liturgies will be in the Solemn Form (priest, deacon, subdeacon).  For Directions see www.fsspatl.com This is the only parish in the Atlanta Diocese and in the state of Georgia where the traditional Holy Week will be observed. PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE EXTREMELY LARGE CROWDS THAT ARE NOW ATTENDING MASS AT THIS PARISH ALL MASSES ARE NOW HELD IN THE GYM BEHIND THE CHURCH.  CONFESSIONS ARE STILL HEARD IN THE CHURCH

PALM SUNDAY

8:00am Solemn High Mass with blessing of palms and procession. Meet in the gym. To take a palm you kneel down in front of the priest then kiss the palm branch and then kiss the priest's hand, then take the palm.  (10:30am and 1:00 pm are low masses) 

MAUNDY THURSDAY

Solemn High Mass of the Lords Supper 6:00 pm with Mandatum (foot washing) of 11 men and one teenage boy who represents St John, stripping of all three altars, translation of the Blessed Sacrament to the altar of repose, Office of Compline is sung and then adoration at the altar of repose until midnight

GOOD FRIDAY

Stations of the Cross at noon.

Solemn Mass of the Pre-sanctified 3:00 pm, (during adoration of the cross you remove your shoes to approach the crucifix), 

HOLY SATURDAY

The Great Vigil (solemn) 9:30 pm, meet in the parking lot at the Easter fire. May want a small flashlight because there is only candlelight used until the Gloria is intoned.

EASTER SUNDAY 
8:00 am Low Mass, followed by Easter Egg Hunt
10:30 am High mass, 
1:00 pm usual mass is canceled
