ONLY LATIN MASS IN GEORGIA FOR THE CIRCUMCISM THIS MONDAY
The only mass in the State of Georgia for the Holyday will be at the parish of St Francis de Sales in Mableton, the Archdiocese of Atlanta. 

MONDAY MORNING (NO MIDNIGHT  MASS THIS YEAR)

 Holy Mother Church provides two plenary indulgences on the last and first day of the year, see below (usual conditions apply)

§ 1. A plenary indulgence is granted to the Christian faithful who, in a church or in an oratory, are present [take part] in a recitation or solemn chant of: ...
1° the hymn Veni Creator ... on the first day of the year, imploring divine assistance for the whole of the coming year...
2° the Te Deum hymn, on the last day of the year, in thanksgiving to God for the favors received in the course of the entire year.

ATLANTA ARCHDIOCESE

The parish of Saint Francis de Sales will be the only location for Christmas masses in this Archdiocese.

The Vigil of the Nativity (December 24th)

10:30 pm Matins followed by Christmas carols then solemn midnight mass (first mass of Christmas)

8:00 am Christmas Day (December 25th) Low Mass (second mass of Christmas)

10:30 am High Mass (third mass of Christmas)

Juventutem Pontifical Mass World Youth Day

JUVENTUTEM ATLANTA TO MEET SATURDAY

Juventutem Atlanta is an international organization of traditional Catholics ages 18-36, single, married, clerics, or religious. They will have a year end meet and greet this Saturday ( Dec 16th) in the parish hall of Saint Francis de Sales in Mableton. Please come and bring a friend, the meeting is open to non Catholics.

RORATE CAELI MASS ATLANTA ARCHDIOCESE

 

Rorate Caeli Mass by candlelight

 THE ONLY RORATE CAELI MASS IN GEORGIA

The only Rorate Caeli Mass in the state of Georgia will be at St Francis de Sales in Mableton on Saturday morning December 16th at 7:00 am. The church is lit only by candlelight. This mass is said before sunrise and ends as the sun comes up.  During the mass sun light gradually fills the church to correspond to the prayers of the mass. This will be a high mass.

All information concerning the Latin Mass in the Savannah Diocese has been removed from all  Diocese web pages as well as all parish bulletins. You might think the masses are canceled however they are still taking place. Please help spread the word about the masses. Masses are as follows:

Savannah : Every Sunday 1:00 pm Sacred Heart Church, pot luck every 2nd Sunday

(N.B. they will also have a 9;00 am mass on Christmas morning)

Augusta: 12:30 pm every 4th Sunday, pot luck follows (however for December the mass will be on the 31st)

Ray City: 3:00 pm every 2nd Sunday 

ARCHDIOCESE ATLANTA GUADALUPE FESTIVAL

 

CELEBRATE THE FEAST OF THE VIRGEN OF GUADALUPE WITH THE FSSP

The FSSP parish in the Atlanta Archdiocese will celebrate the great Feast of the Virgen of Guadalupe on Sunday December 10th 2023. The festival will take place following the 10:30 am high mass. There will be a Mariachi band, Dancers, and a food truck.  Come and tail gate and celebrate the patroness of the Americas.

Second year seminarians arriving for tonsure

FSSP EXPERIENCING TREMENDOUS GROWTH

Notwithstanding the crisis in the church, the FSSP is having tremendous growth in its numbers.  These numbers are only half of the success. They have both quantity AND quality in their members. Here are the latest statistics:

Total members: 569

priests: 368

deacons: 22

seminarians: 179

They are currently in 146 dioceses, at 249 churches/parishes. They have 48 personal parishes in 20  countries. Of course one of these personal parishes in located here in the Atlanta Archdiocese. The nationality breakdown in current seminarians are : 32% Americans, 25% French, and 10% German. Remainder are various countries.
