This plan provides a day-by-day outline of the pilgrimage.
Purpose
The purpose of this pilgrimage is to do penance for our sins and for the sins of our nation.
Basic overview
The pilgrimage begins at 6am on June 4, 2015 with Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Barnesville, Maryland. The pilgrims walk to the C&O canal a few miles away and follow the C&O canal into Washington, DC, arriving at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in the afternoon on June 6.
Daily schedule
(Note: times may be dependent on weather and walking speed)
Thursday, June 4 (first day of pilgrimage)
5:00amRise. Pack gear in van.
6:00 amLow Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Barnesville, Maryland.
7:15 amBreakfast.
7:45 amDepart for Monocacy River Aqueduct on C&O canal. (mile marker 42)
12:00pm45 min lunch break at White’s Ferry on C&O canal (mile. 35.5).
5:00 pmArrive at McKee-Besher Wildlife Management Area(Sycamore Landing Road, mile 27). Ride by van to Marsden track campsite. Dinner at campsite.



Friday, June 5 (second day of the pilgrimage)
5:30 amRise. Pack gear in van.
6:00 amLow Mass at campsite.
7:15 amBreakfast.
7:45 amLoad up in van/ride to mile 27 and continue pilgrimage.
12:00 pm45 min lunch break at Swain’s Lock (mile 16.5).
5:00 pmArrive at Marsden Tract campsite. Eat dinner.


Saturday, June 6 (last day of pilgrimage)
4:30amRise.
5:00/6:00am Breakfast/tear down campsite.
Continue Pilgrimage.
 
11:00 am1 hour lunch break at Francis Scott Key Park (D.C.). Meet up with any pilgrims wishing to join.
1:00pmArrive at St. Matthew’s Cathedral.
3:00pmReach Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Sing the Te Deum.
5:30pmHigh Mass at the Basilica.
