LATIN MASS IN RAY CITY LAST MONTH
SPREAD THE WORD ANOTHER LATIN MASS IN RAY CITY
Solemn Missa Coram Episcopo Augusta
Bishop Parkes & Father Fuks
H.E. BISHOP PARKES ATTENDS
FIRST SOLEMN LATIN MASS IN AUGUSTA.
H.E. Stephen Parkes, Bishop of Savannah, attended yesterdays mass for Passion Sunday at Most Holy Trinity in Augusta. His Excellency not only assisted at the Misa Coram Episcopo, but he preached the sermon and showed his support of the traditional Liturgy and those attached to it. The Sacred Ministers were celebrant, Father James Smith, FSSP, assistant pastor of Saint Francis de Sales Mableton Ga, deacon, Father Zachary Akers, FSSP, director of development for the FSSP in North America, and subdeacon, Rev'd Mister Doug Anderson Archdiocese of Atlanta. Father Fuks, pastor of the parish sat in choro. A very large crowd of 300-400 attended the mass. The servers and schola were from the parish and did an outstanding and magnificent job. Additionally the organizers hard work showed, there were missals and propers of the mass for everyone and and a very nice reception followed including a blue grass band featuring Father Ackers on guitar. Please send thanks to the Bishop and to the pastor Father Fuks. This would not have happened without the enthusiastic support of the pastor. Una Voce also wishes to thank Father Michael Stinson, FSSP North American Superior for his support of this mass and finally Father Robert Dow, FSSP, pastor of Saint Francis de Sales for sending his assistant priest to celebrate the mass. The next mass will be a missa cantata tentatively scheduled for late April, when a date and time is confirmed, it will be posted.

UPDATE: THIS MASS WILL BE A SOLEMN HIGH MASS
FSSP COMES TO AUGUSTA MARCH 21st FOR LATIN HIGH MASS PLEASE COME AND SPREAD THE WORD
Finally after years of efforts the Latin Mass will have a home in Augusta thanks to the pastor Father Mariusz Fuks, and Bishop Stephen Parkes. Father Robert Dow, FSSP, pastor of St Francis de Sales in Mableton Georgia has authorized his assistant priest Father James Smith, FSSP to come and say the inaugural mass of this new apostolate. The FSSP has offered assistance for the first few months to help get the mass started and thereafter, the masses will be said by the pastor Father Fuks. Of course it is up to the Faithful to support it, if they want it to continue. Father Fuks is a big supporter, and has even attended the FSSP seminary in December to be trained in the mass, all with the approval of the wonderful Savannah Bishop. The plan now is to have a high mass once a month to start off and see how things go with the hope that it will be expanded to every Sunday. The first mass will be Passion Sunday at:
1:00 pm Sunday March 21 ( Passion Sunday)
Most Holy Trinity
720 Telfair Street
Augusta Ga 30901
(706) 722-4944
There will be a reception in the rosary garden after mass, please bring a dish to share. The parish has ordered missals but they will not arrive until after this first mass, so please bring your own missal to the mass. PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND AND BRING A FRIEND, WE MUST HAVE A BIG CROWD TO SHOW THERE IS SUPPORT FOR TRADITION AND FOR THIS MASS TO CONTINUE.
PLEASE SEND A THANK YOU CARD TO FATHER FUKS AT THE ADDRESS ABOVE FOR STARTING THIS LATIN MASS APOSTOLATE AT HIS PARISH.
Our Lady of the Lakes located at 195 Amlick Ferry Road Chapin SC phone (803) 345-3962 has begun a weekly Sunday High Mass at 1:00 pm.
BELOW ARE ALL THE DETAILS FOR THE MASS AND HOW TO HELP OUT:
Any young man from the age of 9 years and up is invited to volunteer to be an altar server. This will require some training time, but most guys catch on pretty quickly!
We are also inviting singers to volunteer for the Schola Cantorum, which is being formed under the direction of Michael Dickson, with the goal of supporting the action of the Mass.
There will be rehearsals, with the object to develop the singer’s familiarity and ease with the genre. Please contact Jim Albert (JimAlbert7@gmail.com) or Dr. Michael Dickson (mdickson68@gmail.com).
In keeping with parish policy on COVID-19 capacity limits, we need you to sign up for Mass attendance HERE:
