Bishop Rifan is the only Bishop of a completely traditional diocese in the world. Everything he and all his priests do is according to the pre Vatican II liturgical books. Naturally his diocese has great vocations and about 200 traditional nuns in the diocese running schools and orphanges.
On Friday, June 19th, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. on the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Bishop Fernândo Rifan, of the diocese of Campos in Brazil, will celebrate a traditional Pontifical Solemn Mass at the Throne at the Church of St. Jean Baptiste (East 76th and Lexington Avenue) New York. There will also be a conference on devotion to the Sacred Heart and a dinner in honor of Bishop Rifan on Saturday, June 20th, 2009.
