NEW PASTOR RESUMES LATIN MASS AUGUSTA

LATIN MASS RESUMES IN AUGUSTA UNDER NEW PASTOR

Mark your calendars. The date for the June Latin Mass at Most Holy Trinity has been set! Many thanks to the FSSP for all of the help they have provided in reestablishing the Latin Mass in the Augusta Deanery. Still more thanks to Fr. Mariusz Fuks for inviting the FSSP to come and support us and for his willingness to foster the love of tradition and solemn, reverent liturgy at Most Holy Trinity. The Diocese of Savannah, the Deanery, and Most Holy Trinity are blessed by his efforts and his example as a priest.

THANK YOU FR. FUKS, FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!

On June 27th, Fr. Jacob Almeter will come to Most Holy Trinity to assume the role of Pastor. Fr. Almeter is a friend of the Latin Mass and of traditional liturgy, and he will continue the good work that has been started by saying the Latin Mass on his first weekend as Pastor!

Please plan to come and be a part of this wonderful day as we move forward together as a community and to welcome Fr. Almeter, an Augusta native, back to Augusta!

Can you please elaborate on the help provided by the FSSP?

...also will this Sunday Mass continue to be offered every Sunday going forward?

The FSSP kick started the Latin Mass at the church by providing a priest once a month for the last 3 months. The outgoing pastor Father Fuks became interested in the old mass and went to the FSSP seminary in December to be trained in saying the old mass. He didn't feel comfortable in celebrating a high mass just yet and asked the FSSP to come and get things started. The new pastor will continue the mass monthly but it is expected to grow into a more frequent occurrence. The new pastor had already started a monthly high mass at his old parish, so everything has worked out great for the Faithful in Augusta. The servers and schola are all excellent.
