Intoning the Veni Creator Spiritus at Midnight of the New Year
NEW YEARS EVE AND NEW YEARS DAY
The only known midnight mass and opportunity to gain two plenary indulgences on January the 1st (Feast of the Circumcision of Our Lord) in the State of Georgia will be at the parish of St Francis de Sales in Mableton. Prior to the midnight mass, there will be a Holy Hour, confessions, and benediction followed by the public singing of the Te Deum. This starts at 11:00 pm. Immediately following the Te Deum there will be a Low Mass at Midnight. After the Mass there will be the public singing of the Veni Creator Spiritus. The public recitation of the Te Deum before midnight gains a plenary indulgence, AND the public recitation of the Veni Creator Spiritus after midnight carries another plenary indulgence. They both carry the usual conditions so you can receive confession and communion all in the same evening. A rare opportunity to gain two plenary indulgences on one trip to church. Also, there will be a Low Mass on the Feast Day at 9:00 am. Confessions are heard before all masses. The Veni Creator Spiritus will be recited and or sung at both of the masses to gain the indulgence
